Alidas Food Crispy Tofu

Crispy Tofu

Ingredients

  • 1 block tofu
  • 4 tbsp oat flour
  • 5 tbsp milk
  • 1 cup gluten-free panko
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • 2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 2 tsp garlic power
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • A handful of coriander finely chopped
  • A drizzle of olive oil

Optional toppings:

  • Coriander

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 200 °C.
  • In separate bowls place the oat flour, in another one the milk, and in another one the panko, the spices and the coriander.
  • Cut the tofu in sticks of around 1 cm.
  • Dip each tofu stick on the flour and remove the excess.
  • Then dip the tofu in the milk also removing the excess.
  • Finally, dip the tofu in the panko mixture and press well to make sure the panko sticks to the tofu.
  • Place the tofu in a baking tray and make sure there's a little space between the sticks. Drizzle some olive oil and cook it for around 20-25min or until golden brown.
  • Remove and let it rest for a few min.
  • Sprinkle with coriander and serve with garlic yoghurt.

Notes

Note: If the oat flour seems too dense, you can slightly reduce the quantity to 3½ tablespoons, but 4 tablespoons should work fine in most cases. Just ensure the tofu sticks are evenly coated.
