A yummy chocolate cake recipe, who can resist?
Around here we are experimenting with cakes. My mom and I have always made wonderful cakes, but since we moved, we had a lot of problems with our oven.
It’s funny because, for normal, roast-style dishes, the oven works perfectly.
But to bake cakes is a disgrace!
Sometimes they come out well, sometimes badly, sometimes more or less. It’s hard to understand. However, a cake that is a cake has to have a perfect consistency.
High, fluffy, with air bubbles, and soft!
I’ve been complaining forever that I don’t understand what’s going on, that I think it’s the oven. Or that it’s my fault because I should sift the flour, or use butter instead of coconut oil, or that I should make healthier cakes…
You see, it’s a giant paranoia! I spend hours on youtube hunting for the perfect formula.
I asked several people and almost all of them told me the same thing: don’t blame the oven, it’s really your fault. You beat the batter too much or this or that or the other.
In short, an endless list of possible reasons why my cakes don’t turn out great!
But finally, everything changed, a new life for my cakes and for my motivation to bake them.
It took a live with Rui Ribeiro to discover what was happening with my cakes.
Do you believe it?
We have been making THOUSANDS of cakes here at home and now they are all PERFECT!
No more half-baked, burnt, or whatever cakes.
After so many weeks of eating cakes and more cakes (one day we made 3 cakes, imagine that!), I asked my mom not to tempt me for a weekend. Because it really has been too much!
But, of course, she couldn’t stand it. And, of course, I couldn’t resist!
You get the picture, don’t you?
This time she was the chef, and I was the helper and prepared all the decorations to photograph this wonderful recipe for a yummy chocolate cake.
It’s far from being a super healthy cake, as you can tell by the ingredients… White flour, white sugar, butter, condensed milk, you name it.
Only caloric ingredients and those are generally not my preference.
But that’s okay because once in a while we can deviate a little from the foods we know are best. It’s not a problem, as long as it’s not our standard diet.
We have to adopt a healthy and conscious lifestyle where there is room to allow ourselves to eat the things we like in a balanced way. Even if they are sweet and not very nutritionally rich.
After all, it’s not a slice of this cake that’s going to hurt us. What’s bad for us is eating the whole cake!
That’s exactly why I decided to make this post, with this more calorific recipe. To show that I also eat cakes once in a while and that it’s okay if we make an excess once in a while. Don’t blame yourself!
Just make the note that this applies to people without any kind of health problems and that it has to be an exception in your diet.

WHAT TRICKS WILL ENSURE THIS YUMMY CHOCOLATE CAKE RECIPE TASTES JUST RIGHT?
You already know I like good, practical recipes, right?
This chocolate cake is no different! I explain the step-by-step so that it is perfect.
But I’ll be honest, if you don’t have patience, put all the ingredients together, beat them well, and bake it. I’m sure it works too!
Maybe it won’t be as tall and fluffy, but it will still be a great cake for sure.
Now some tricks for this chocolate glutinous cake recipe to be TOP:
- Preheat the oven to 160 degrees, but only do it 15-20 min before you put the cake in the oven. We want the oven hot, but not too hot.
If your oven has the “fan” option, that’s the one to use. The fan will help the hot air circulate throughout the oven evenly, meaning that the oven will be at the same temperature on all sides. - Sift the flour. This step is essential for the cake to be fluffier because sifting the flour will allow more air to enter your batter and make the cake lighter. It works if you don’t sift, but it’s better if you do!
- Make sure all the ingredients are at room temperature. This will help make the batter lighter and help incorporate air better. It will also help the cake bake better.
