Honey Shrimp Recipe

Guys, if there’s one thing I love, it’s shrimp. And this Honey Shrimp Recipe is just delicious!

I saw a post by Marisa Valadas on Instagram and decided to recreate my own recipe. It was approved at home and I admit it turned out AMAZING!

I love just about every kind of seafood, and shrimp is one of the easiest to cook at home. My mother often makes shrimp on special days, and I may have learned to cook it just by helping my mother in the kitchen.

Of course, as always, I tried to make this recipe healthy and tasty at the same time. I gave it a touch of spicy, just to accentuate the flavor, and off I went.

I eat them all just like this. ahah But accompany them with a nice slice of bread or rice. Mnhaam how delicious!

I admit that I’m already drooling with this picture. I’m not crazy, OK?!

As I have already told you, my recipes are very simple and practical. With few ingredients and they don’t take much time to prepare and cook.

I do it because although I love to cook, I have no time to waste in my day-to-day life and I don’t like to come home and spend 3 hours in the kitchen. And that would also mean, of course, a super late dinner. DON’T!

But I LOVE to experiment, anytime. Making different things, creating with the ingredients I have at home, and most of all spending a good time in my kitchen.

However, I warn you that my diet is very much based on what I advocate: conscious and intuitive eating. And that is why I only eat the foods I like, that make me feel good, and that I enjoy cooking with.

Because we need to eat to survive, that is true. But we also need to eat well and eat with pleasure, to live well and happily!

Back to the shrimp, this one is super simple and easy, and in 10 minutes it’s ready to go on the table!

I advise you to let it thaw overnight to speed up the whole process, but it’s not mandatory. The only thing that might change is the fact that the sauce will be more or less watery, depending on what you decide to do.

A tip, this honey shrimp recipe can also be made in the oven, if you prefer. Set the oven to 180 degrees, set a timer for 15-20 minutes and you’re done!

Let’s check the recipe for Honey Shrimp?

Camarão com mel 2

  • 10 medium shrimps
  • 2 tbsp of honey
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 1 red chili pepper
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 3 to 4 cloves of garlic
  • Olive oil to taste
  • Chopped parsley to taste (or another herb to taste)

  1. Start by mincing the garlic cloves.
  2. Once chopped, place them in a frying pan or saucepan (if it’s a tall pan, don’t sprinkle them all over the sides).
  3. Add a dash of olive oil and let the garlic brown.
  4. Cut the chili pepper into thin slices and place them in the pan or skillet and let them fry a little. Attention, remove the seeds from the chili pepper so it doesn’t get too spicy!
  5. Add the shrimp and let them cook for about 2 minutes on each side. If necessary, cover the pan or the frying pan.
  6. Pour in the honey and add the salt and pepper and mix well.
  7. Cut the lemon in half and squeeze the lemon juice over the shrimp.
  8. Let the sauce gain some flavor.
  9. Turn off the heat and add the chopped parsley on top.
  10. Let it rest for 1 or 2 minutes so that the sauce can incorporate all the flavor of the parsley.
  11. Serve.

Suggestion: This is a great recipe for both a starter and a main course.

Replace the salt with coriander if you like it better, or try other herbs, such as chives.

Use lime instead of lemon. It works great, too!

For a more acidic touch, add the zest of the lime or lemon. I love doing that!

You can also add a little white wine. I do it all the time and it’s really tasty.

Serve with a nice tomato and lettuce salad and some slices of toasted bread, or with white rice.

If you want it to be extra yummy, make some fries, it’s sure to be a hit!
