Fit Popcorn Recipe

A recipe for fit popcorn would come in handy, don’t you think?

If there is a snack that I love is popcorn! Besides being crunchy and addictive, it’s really a pleasure!

I like salted popcorn better than sweet popcorn, but in this fit popcorn recipe, you can make as many adjustments as you want.

There are no limits to creativity, as long as you use your favorite ingredients. And of course, keep the basis of the recipe.

Making popcorn is particularly special to me. Not just for the movie part, but because it reminds me of my grandmother. And a lot!

Yes, my grandmother is 80 years old and a fan of all these things: be it popcorn, pizza, hamburgers, etc. ahah

It’s really funny, because every now and then she says to me: when are you going to take me for pizza?

I confess that I melt when my grandma says that to me! ahah

Believe me, my grandma is very forward!

Back to our popcorn…

Have you ever thought about making popcorn with spices?

That is exactly what I bring to you today. Popcorn cooked with spices, giving it a very good and more intense flavor to our popcorn fit.

And why is this popcorn fit, you ask?

Well, the first thing to consider is that being fit is not the same as being low-carb ok?

Popcorn is rich in carbohydrates, but you can still eat it without guilt.

This popcorn recipe is made with popcorn corn and not with those packages of popcorn previously prepared (like those that go to the microwave).

Right there, they are much healthier because besides the corn not having that abusive amount of salt or sugar, it doesn’t have the thousand and one preservatives and additives.

So, points for this fit popcorn! Yeeei

Adding to the party of bad things, store-bought popcorn is full of fat and that’s very easy to notice. Just run your finger inside the package when you take it out of the microwave and you will see how super greasy it will feel.

I know that when you’re supposed to eat popcorn, you’re supposed to eat it for real. I’ve heard that a thousand times!

But why not make some popcorn that is better for us and for our health?

On top of that, we don’t lose anything in terms of flavor. In fact, we even gain if we think about it!

Where can we buy microwave popcorn with turmeric? I think it is almost impossible.

It may seem strange to eat popcorn with turmeric (or with other spices), but believe me, it’s really good. TOP, TOP, TOP!

It gives even more flavor to our “friends” and a beloved crunchy feel.

How do you make this fit popcorn recipe?

The process for making this popcorn is super easy. And no, the pots don’t get ruined or burned as many people think! ahah

You just have to be careful when making it, and not let the popcorn pot get too hot.

There are two ways to make it…

We can make it with coconut oil (or other fat, but coconut oil withstands high temperatures well and gives a slight extra flavor to the popcorn).

On the other hand, we can make this fit popcorn with water. With a dash of water, we make the popcorn pop due to the water steam.

Then, add the necessary seasonings and let the popcorn pop completely and become our wonderful popcorn.

The best part! They are made in no time and we can eat them guilt-free (but as I always say, without exaggeration, of course)!

Fit Popcorn Recipe

A healthier popcorn recipe that you can eat without guilt! Ideal for a fit snack, an uncontrollable craving, or for a good movie session.
Prep time:2 minutes
Cook Time:8 minutes
Total time:10 minutes
Keywords: fir popcorn, healthy popcorn, popcorn, popcorn with spices, popcorn with turmeric, salty popcorn
Portions: 2 people

Ingredients

  • 4 tbsp popcorn corn
  • ½ tbsp coconut oil
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp turmeric

Instructions

  • Start by placing the popcorn corn in a bowl, along with the salt and turmeric, and set aside.
  • Add coconut oil to a pot.
  • Turn on the heat to medium power and let the coconut oil melt.
  • Add the previously seasoned popcorn and cover the pot.
  • Shake the pot a little, to spread the corn.
  • You will start to hear the first pops of popcorn.
  • Shake the pot every now and then so that the popcorn that is done doesn't burn, and the popcorn that isn't done yet can pop.
  • When you no longer hear pops or when they decrease dramatically, turn off the heat.
  • Leave the pot covered for 2 or 3 min so that the popcorn settles and doesn't pop out when you open the lid (otherwise you might get hurt).
  • Arrange the popcorn in individual bowls or a large bowl and enjoy!

Notes

You can use the spices you like best. I used turmeric, but you can also use paprika, cumin, thyme, and rosemary, you name it. Whatever you like.
Grated cheese or nutritional yeast (for a vegetarian/vegan version) it will also work well!
If you want to make sweet popcorn, use a dash of honey, coconut sugar, brown sugar, or another sweetener.
Another suggestion might be to add a chocolate topping.
A little cinnamon also works.
If you want to make it fat-free, that's also possible. Just put a dash of water in the pot (just to cover the bottom) and pop the popcorn.
