Instructions

  • Start by making your tofu marinade.
  • In a bowl, put the tofu cut into sticks.
  • Add the lemon, soy sauce, and pepper.
  • Let marinate for about 30 min.
  • While the tofu is marinating, put the cornflakes in a plastic or silicone bag.
  • Close the bag and with the help of a rolling pin, beat the bag well, so as to break up the cornflakes.
  • Transfer the cornflakes to a bowl and season with salt and oregano. Mix well and set aside.
  • In a frying pan, put some olive oil and turn on the heat.
  • Pass the tofu sticks through the cornflakes mixture, one by one, and place them in the pan.
  • They bake for about 2 to 3 min each or until golden brown.
  • Serve and enjoy!

Notes

You can use ground flaxseed for this recipe. The advantage of ground flaxseed is that it will cling better to the tofu, as it is more like flour.
As for the cornflakes, you can crush them coarsely, as I did, just to give them a crunch, or you can crush them until they are like flour. This way they will adhere better to the tofu.
Use the seasonings you like best, there is no problem in changing the recipe. You can add paprika, cumin, turmeric, you name it.
If you like a slightly sweet taste, you can use 1/2 lemon and 1/2 orange in your marinade.
In case your goal is just to make a meatless meal, you can use flour or breadcrumbs and egg to bread the tofu.
