Finally, the big news has arrived. And today is Carbonara day!
As you know, I love food and one of my great passions is cooking! But on my part, no introductions are necessary.
I’ve joined Márcia Gomes, in a project we named “4-Hands Cooking“, in which we will cook A LOT!
Marcia is passionate about living and having an active, healthy, and balanced lifestyle: between body, mind, and spirit. Besides cooking, she likes singing, dancing, being with babies and children, going to the beach, traveling, and meeting new people, and different places. Marcia is a vegetarian, so she likes to visit vegetarian restaurants where she can sit down and enjoy a wonderful meal in good company and be inspired by new flavors.
Sound familiar? I have found a person with a huge passion for going to new places and getting inspired by them and bringing them into her everyday life. And she loves using those ideas to get her hands dirty!
If you ask her what her purpose is, she will tell you: “I live intensely the present day, the now moment, which is the only one I know exists and I can choose to live it, or I can choose to ignore it. So, living one day at a time as if it were the last is really part of my life motto”.
And this is exactly what Marcia tries to convey in her project “To Love Lifestyle”: “This is what makes me feel the magic of Life present in me, the blessings that the Universe puts on my path and the call of my Inner Self to be a better person, living and experiencing every moment of every day with all the love, courage, surrender and dedication!”
Introductions made. And now, what does our project “4-Hands Cooking” consist of?
We met through social networks, discovered common tastes, and decided to combine them into a single project! This a project where we will cook and give wings to our imagination, creating recipes thinking of you!
Practical, fast, tasty recipes for all tastes. We will show you how easy it is to adapt the so-called “normal” recipe into a vegetarian recipe with the same degree of difficulty. We will show you a new world, where everything is possible, where everything is simple and where everything is adaptable.
In “4-Hands Cooking“, we’ll always provide you with two recipes. We hope you enjoy them as much as us!
On this side, we are having a lot of fun!

CARBONARA RECIPE:
INGREDIENTS:
- 2 servings of spaghetti-type pasta (for 2 people)
- 1 to 2 cloves of garlic
- Olive oil to taste
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- 10 thin slices of bacon
- 2 eggs
- Parmesan cheese to taste
PREPARATION METHOD:
- Start by putting water and a pinch of salt in a saucepan over high heat until it boils.
- When it is boiling, add the pasta and let it cook for approximately 7 to 8 minutes or until it is al dente.
- While the pasta is cooking, in a bowl, beat the eggs, along with the parmesan cheese, and set aside.
- Remove the pasta from the heat and rinse it under cold water to prevent it from sticking.
- Chop the garlic and put it in a frying pan with some olive oil.
- When the garlic is golden brown, add the bacon, previously cut into small pieces, to the frying pan.
- Fry the bacon until it is more or less crispy.
- Add the pasta and mix well. The idea is that the ingredients are well combined and the batter is lightly fried.
- Turn off the heat and remove the pan from the hot stove to stop the cooking.
- Add the egg mixture and the Parmesan cheese, add the pepper, and mix everything together very well.
- You can add more parmesan cheese on top before serving.
- Serve.
VEGETARIAN CARBONARA RECIPE:
INGREDIENTS:
- 2 servings of gluten-free spaghetti pasta (for 2 people) – we used corn spaghetti
- 1 clove of garlic
- Olive oil to taste
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- Turmeric to taste
- 200g smoked tofu
- 100 gr of fresh mushrooms
- 1 package of vegan cream
- Vegan parmesan cheese to taste
PREPARATION METHOD:
- Start by putting water and a pinch of salt in a saucepan over high heat until it boils.
- When it is boiling, add the pasta and let it cook for approximately 8 to 9 minutes or until it is al dente.
- While the pasta is cooking, place the vegetable cream in a bowl, along with the turmeric, pepper, and a little salt. Add the vegan parmesan cheese and stir well. Set aside.
- Remove the pasta from the heat and rinse it under cold water to prevent it from sticking.
- Chop the garlic and put them in a frying pan with a little olive oil.
- When the garlic is golden brown, place the tofu in the pan, previously cut into cubes, along with the mushrooms cut in halves.
- Fry the tofu and mushrooms until they turn golden brown and they are not pouring out more water.
- As in the previous recipe, this is the time to add the noodles. Mix well, so that the ingredients are well combined and the pasta is lightly fried.
- Turn off the heat and take the pan off the hot stove, so that it stops cooking.
- Add the cream mixture and the vegan parmesan cheese and mix everything well.
- You can add more vegan parmesan cheese on top before serving.
- Serve.
Suggestion: Use your imagination! Replace ingredients with ones you like better. For example, instead of bacon, use cured ham or ham; instead of tofu, use legumes or seitan.
Try sprinkling some pink pepper on top, or use salt and spices.
